Why did my tortoise die with indigestion, swollen legs, and no poop?

My tortoise just died last week due to some infection. She did not excrete for almost 6months & was hardly eating anything. Her legs were swollen as well. Although she’s no more, I would like to know the reason for her indigestion. Pet's info: Reptile | Tortoise | Female

Sorry for your loss. Without a necropsy an answer can not be provided. But intestinal obstructions, respiratory infections, renal and heart disease can all lead to sepsis (widespread infections) and swollen limbs.
