My dog's penis is bleeding. Is it an emergency or can I wait?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Our 2 years old neutered male dog's penis is bleeding, not too much, just some, what can it be? Should we take him to the emergency vet clinic now or can we wait and make an appointment? Now it's Saturday night.

Bleeding is concerning, and it could be a UTI, bladder stones, a disease like leptospirosis, an injury, a problem with coagulation, or toxin ingestion causing the bleeding. Without seeing him in person, I can't say if he will be ok to wait, so I'd take him into an ER vet now to be safe.
