My dog vomited blood and has bloody poop but seems fine. What's wrong?

My 1 yr old shitzu vomitted this morning and it was mostly clear but I saw bright red soft dots in it. He just had dinner and did soft dark poop, which I think was with blood. He has energy and appetite. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 11 months and 30 days old | 16 lbs

Oscar needs to be examined by the veterinarian today. Vomiting blood is always concerning. Oscar also potentially has blood stool which is also concerning. There could be many potential causes including infection, parasites, poisoning, a bleeding disorder, HGE or a foreign body trapped in the GI tract. It's best to not wait on this one and to get him checked out to be safe. I hope this helps and wish Oscar a speedy recovery.
