What undergraduate major to become a vet, and how long is vet school?

Sorry to interrupt you. First of all this is not about my dogs health. All of my 4 dogs are good thanks. But Im just curious since I will go to college next year. What undergraduate should I take to become a vet? And how long does it takes? Thank you :) This is my dream tho. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | 4 years and 9 months old | 23 lbs

Hello, I'd recommend an undergraduate degree in biology, chemistry, or animal science. However, you can complete any degree as long as you have the core pre-requisites for the schools you want to apply to. It takes 3 years to complete enough courses to apply to veterinary school. Vet school takes 4 years. I'd recommend reading more about the profession and scheduling some volunteer time with your local animal shelters and veterinarians. It can be a harsh career field.
