My dog gained weight and is less active. Is this normal? What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 4 years and 8 months old | 34 lbs

Laboo is mixed breed Labrador in India. He has gained a lot of weight within few months as compared to previous years. Is this a normal thing to pet ? He seems normal, just physical activity is less. Pls advise

Hello. Laboo is a beautiful dog, gorgeous coat, eyes & head. It is not unusual for a neutered dog to gain weight as they age, & Labrador Retrievers can be especially prone to obesity. Just like in people, the key is to limit calories & get more exercise. Evaluate what & how much you are feeding him & maybe work in a little more play time during the day & try to at least keep him from putting too much additional weight on.
