Dog's leg hurt by recliner, now he's in pain and pacing. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 10 months old | 19 lbs

My dog was laying on my husbands lap on the recliner chair . My husband did not noticed the dog had one of his legs in between the opening and when my husband got up it got caught and my dog yelled in pain . He started pacing and will not stop pacing. What should I do?

I would recommend to keep him in a quiet environment and rest him as much as possible. Monitor him for the next hour and see if he settles or not. Examine skin externally for any wound/swelling and see if he is still limping in an hour; if not continue to rest him and monitor him for today, otherwise take him to your local veterinarian for a check up as pain relief medications and a physical assessment would be ideal to determine exactly the nature of the injury and give you appropriate treatment options.
