Is Purina Dog Chow lower quality than Royal Canin or Science Diet?

Purina ProPlan is just as good as Royal Canin and Science Diet, and the Purina you find in the grocery store is lower quality, but it's still the best of the supermarket brands. The reason it is lower quality is because it doesn't use the high quality ingredients, hence the lower price. I hope this helps!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Brands like Royal Canin, Purina Pro Plan and Science Diet that other brands do not have is high quality ingredients that are more expensive and most importantly extensive research on their diets to really know for sure they are actually good. Also, their diets tend to go through a quality control process to make sure the product is safe to use. All those things make the product better but also increase the price.
