My dog's poop had dark red blood once. When should I call the vet?

Dark red almost blood in stool. I took my dog for a walk this evening and she went #2 twice. The first time was completely normal and firm stools and the second was the end of it with a little bit of dark red almost blood in stool. Should I be worried? I have never seen blood in her stool before and she just has a urine test and blood test this week and last and we're completely fine. I will check tomorrow in her stool but if it was only once should I contact her vet?

I would not be overly freaked out with one episode of blood in the stool. If it continues though, definitely call your vet. Intestinal parasites can cause this, namely cocicidia which is pretty common in young dogs. If it continues I would have your vet do a fecal test to check for it.
