Cat still distant, litter issues, overgrooming after vet visit?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 5 months old | 9 lbs

My cat over the past few weeks has become distant, isn’t using her litter tray and is eating anything she can find. She is also over grooming, she hasn’t got fleas or worms as she is frequently treated. What could be causing this, I took her to the vet and they gave her a steroid injection but it hasn’t helped.

I recommend to have Chub examined by the veterinarian again. When pets don't respond to treatment as expected, it often means the real underlying cause of the illness has not be discovered. Chub will likely need some diagnostics like bloodwork and checking her bladder for infection. It's possible these symptoms are not related but you need diagnostics to know. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
