My dog (8 months) threw up a worm this morning. We will take to a vet when we can. Is this an emergency?

In general, vomiting a worm is not an emergency. Here is a link about dogs and vomiting and it identifies when pets need to be examined right away: https://www.petcoach.co/article/vomiting-in-dogs/ Make sure to have George examined right away if he seems overly lethargic, has pale gums or is exhibiting other signs of illness such as diarrhea or not eating/drinking. George does need to be examined by the veterinarian when you can get him in. If he has one type of worm, he may have others. Additionally, some worms can spread to humans so it is very important to know the parasite status and make sure all pets get appropriate treatment. https://www.petcoach.co/article/can-people-get-worms-from-their-pets/ I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

You will not likely find any products around the house that will help a dog with worms. If Trouble is truly that sick that he is in danger of dying, he needs to be examined by a veterinarian IMMEDIATELY. If parasites are that severe, there is generally dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, intestinal damage and sometimes blood loss. These pets are VERY sick and require supportive care. Different worms respond to different medications. Also, some worms can be spread to humans. It is VERY important to know the parasite status of all pets. Here are a few helpful links: https://www.petcoach.co/article/vomiting-in-dogs/ https://www.petcoach.co/article/roundworms-toxascaris-leonina-toxocara-canis/ https://www.petcoach.co/article/hookworm-infection-prevention-treatment-in-dogs/ https://www.petcoach.co/article/whipworms-trichuris-vulpis/ It would be very cruel to allow Trouble to die from a treatable condition. I recommend to have him examined quickly at an emergency animal hospital.
