Can my pet rat safely eat pasta as an occasional treat or snack?

Can rats really eat pasta? I don't mean as main food, of course. But I'd like to know if apart from the daily feed I can put spaghetti from time to time as an appetizer.

Hello. Yes, your rat can have a little pasta ( & the key here is a little ) every now & then. Rodents are omnivores & will eat practically anything. I would stay away from any sauces, but a strand or two once in a while is fine. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
