Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | unneutered
I have a new budgie. Actually it's only been 2-3 weeks and I think he has diarrhoea. His vent is dirty, he has loose droppings and sits fluffed up sometimes. But he is active just like the other budgie I bought. She is perfectly healthy and active but Chirp is having these problems and his tail remains dirty. What can I do at home to help him? How can I clean him if it's difficult for me to even take him in my hands

Thanks for reaching out about Chirp. You'll have to restrain with a soft towel and rinse under warm water in the sink. But this is possibly a bacterial infection, viral disease, metabolic disorder and others, and a veterinary visit is needed to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Providing heat support in the 80-85 F range can give some comfort. Good luck.
