My dog has a rough, bumpy bald spot on his leg. Should I worry?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 60 lbs

My dog just randomly got this bald spot on his leg, it’s pretty rough and a little bumpy. I have only seen him scratch it once but it doesn’t seem like it’s bothering him. Should I take him to the vet for that ?? It’s about the size of a dollar bill folded in half

Hello. I would watch this for a bit & see if it progresses. Is it possible that Mr. Pickles received a vaccination in this area in the last few months? Sometime a localized vasculitis can occur & it can look like this. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the hair will grow back. You can rub a little OTC hydrocortisone cream into the area for the next 7-10 days, but if it does not seem to bother him, just keep an eye on things. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
