My cat is licking a wet spot and has a circular wound. What's wrong?

Hi, I noticed my cat licking where the hair was wet and when I parted the hair I noticed a circular wound about half an inch across. It's not bleeding and I'm not sure when it happened.

Hello, I'd recommend having Bouncer seen by his veterinarian. I'm concerned that the wound could be an abscess, which is a local collection of pus, or ringworm, which is a fungal infection that can be spread to people. Your vet can best guide you after a physical exam. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
