My cat has cystitis & fish allergy. Are there Rx food alternatives?

My 8 y/o male cat had his first bout of cystitis a few weeks ago, my vets only solution was to give Rx food (Hills, Royal Canin or ProPlan) these all have fish products in them (even non fish flavors) and my cat is allergic. They have no other suggestions and said he will have another issue if he's not on that food. I've read about Wysong Uretic wet food, Wysong Biotic ph- supplement, Cystease, Tinkle Tonic, etc - would anything else work as an alternative? PLEASE HELP! Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 8 years and 3 months old | 17 lbs

I personally feed Wysong Uretic to my cat who has a history of cystitis (due to food allergies with other products), and she does great on it. I would let your vet know you are looking to try that so they can work with you on a food trial and slow transition to see if it helps improve Sebastian's symptoms. Your vet may recommend a few checkups during the trial period to do so to ensure the food is helping.
