Why is my cat's front leg suddenly swollen with no visible injury?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Russian Blue | Male | neutered | 4 years and 3 months old

My cats front left leg quite suddenly appeared to be swollen, there is no puncture marks, no ticks and not gashes or sores? He is still eating, drinking and sleeping and can apply light pressure to the paw but I am so confused as to what could have made his leg swell so suddenly? He hasn't eaten anything out of the ordinary either? any suggestions is greatly appreciated!

If Max is allowed outside, he could have gotten into a fight leading to this swelling. Bites from cats can be hard to find sometimes. He also could have injured the leg. I would have this checked out by a vet today.
