My cat breathes fast, lethargic, not eating after panleukopenia.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | unspayed

I had 7 cats. 5 died recently of panleukopenia. 2 survived. They are both 6 month old. They started eating again, grooming again and responded well to treatment. But now one started to breath really fast like 80 breaths per minute. Then she is lethargic again and sleeps a lot. Her pupils are dilated. Doesn't drink or eat...and doesn't purr anymore. P.s.: they had medical treatment for panleukopenia + vitamins

If Mari has gone back downhill again after treatment it is best to bring her back to your vet ASAP. It is possible there are secondary complications that require care, or a change in treatment plan needed to get her feeling better.
