Why did my German Shepherd puppy die suddenly after vomiting leaves?

I had a german shepherd who was 5 months old. Today morning he vomited and there was food and some leaves in it, it was 4 in the morning and he slept after that so we thought we would take him to the vet in the morning, he vomited again at 7:30am so we took him to the vet immediately, he gave him some injections and a drip. It looked like he was getting better.. but after some time he wanted to vomit again so we took him to the vet again but he passed away in the car.what could be the reason? Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | 5 months and 8 days old | 27.5 lbs
