My chihuahua puppy ate trash, is vomiting and lethargic. Help!

Question

I have a 4 month old chihuahua and he has been throwing up since last night I got him to eat piece of chicken and drink a little water and power aid but he’s still just laying around what could be wrong with him he did get into some old trash and what should I do. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 1lb

If Paco got into the trash, he certainly could have eaten something that has caused him to vomit. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.
