My spaniel has a hard, immobile lump. Should I take him to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 10 years and 8 months old | 30 lbs

I feel like this is a growth? Am I losing my mind. It’s hard and immobile. Not like a fat tumor. Is there something common in spaniel breeds that would cause this?

Nothing specific to spaniel breeds. It looks like a tumor and even if it doesn't feel like a lipoma it may still be one. I suggest you have Tobias to your vet so they can do a needle aspirate of the mass to see what it is. This procedure requires no sedation or anesthesia.
