My dog's ear is smelly, waxy, red, and hot. Should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 21 days old | 55 lbs

I have a 9 month old golden retriever. One ear is very smelly, waxy and when I cleaned it there were small traces of blood. His ear is also very red and kinda hot to the touch. Do I need to take him to the vet?

Hello, Yes, it sounds like Wallace's ear is likely infected and this does require him to be seen by a vet. However, it's not an emergency, and it can wait a day or two if your regular vet is not open today. I hope this helps! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
