Can someone please help me ? I took Button to vet Thursday they have put her sleep for exam(she bites) . Nothing found but she has not eaten in five days now nothing dry or wet . Can the anesthesia take a while to wear off causing her to still not eat this long ? She’s bugun shaking short periods at a time. Im giving her droppers of water she won’t drink either and I’m taking her back in tomorrow they won’t take her today as they aren’t open In our small town on weekends. I’m so worried.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! While sedation or anesthesia can result in gastrointestinal upset and inappetence, it usually does not last 5 days so I am worried that there may be something else going on. Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Button evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
