Why is my dog's ear hair loss getting worse with home remedies?

Our Rhodesia Ridgeback is losing hair on his ear. First started out scaby, red and now has spread with hair loss. We started using peroxide, Neosporin, and mupirocin 2%. But is getting worse. Pet's info: Dog | Rhodesian Ridgeback | Male | neutered | 4 years and 2 months old | 95 lbs

It may be a vasculitis or an immune medication problem. I would stop using peroxide as it can delay healing after the initial insult. Mupirocin is stronger than neosporin and each will treat for a bacterial infection. Since it is spreading and getting worse, you will need to see your vet to make sure there is no fungal infection or see if a course of steroids will be needed to clear it.
