This likely a bacterial infection that will need to be cleaned and disinfected by your veterinarian and then requires prescription ointment and an oral antibiotic. Your dog may also have a food allergy. Please make an appointment with your vet for an exam.

Poor Chili! The most common cause of a rash with excessive itching near the base of the tail is fleas - so if she isn't currently on a good quality flea control medication like Nexgard, Bravecto, or Trifexis, this is the first thing I would suggest. Other possible causes of the rash and itching would include allergies, a bacterial or fungal skin infection, or skin mites (mange). It sounds like she may need antibiotics and a short-term steroid or other medication to help resolve the itching, so I would recommend taking her to the vet for an exam when you are able to.

It looks to me like he most likely has a skin infection from scratching or licking. It could be due to fleas or some sort of allergy. He may need some antibiotics to clear the infection. You could try applying a hydrocortisone cream to try and relieve the itching but may need stronger antibiotics from a veterinarian
