Why does my healthy cat meow loudly at night, even after a vet visit?

Question

My cat will often meow/ yowl loudly in the middle of the night. She will occasionally meow during the day but mostly it's late night. She's been to the vet so I know it's nothing physical. She's fine once I speak to her or if I get up. She has access to my bedroom and can easily jump to the bed. Any ideas? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 years and 11 months old | 7 lbs

Miss Sassy may be suffering from Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome, or in other words, be a bit senile. This causes her to all of a sudden not knowing where she is , feeling all alone or left behind. You can leave on a radio over night or a light or both and this may help. If not , there are medications that can be given such as selegiline (Anipryl, off license for cats) which will help .
