Hi, our cat had a one or two punctures to the left shoulder. Vet visit blood work and xray nothing broken just sprained. area abscessed and pussing today, Saturday and no vets open. Confused about treatments o net to get by till Monday. Cleaned oozing puss with wet PT and put her in tub. She has collar cone. Neosprin? Hydrogen peroxide? Think puss has stopped for now.

Hello, If Delilah’s abscess is draining and she is otherwise healthy, I would just keep the area clean by wiping away the pus with a warm clothe and contact your veterinarian on Monday to discuss antibiotics. I would not use peroxide or neosporin because I do think it is necessary. And keep the E-collar on until the site has healed.
