Is a calm husky puppy normal, or should I expect hyperactivity?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | spayed | 7 months and 13 days old | 48.8 lbs

Is it normal for huskies to be calm as puppy? I had always thought puppies will be hyper till 2 or 3 years old (have had a lab pup) My Male husky is calm as well. Good around cats and the like. Sienna just lays around all day but at the same time when it’s time to go for a run or walk she has endurance and speed of course yet have a subtle calm. Just wondering as if I ever get a puppy again was curious if that husky puppy will be calm as well. Are golden retrievers settle down fast as well?

Hello. Just like in people, personalities differ in pets, as well. While we can generalize about specific breeds of dogs, this just does not always prove true. Sometimes you can guess at a dog's general adult behavior by how they act as a puppy & maybe you are just really intuitive at picking out calm dogs, but as long as the health of the dog or puppy is normal, I would just be happy that your pup is not a maniac.
