My FIV cat has loose green stool, pain, and won't eat. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 years and 3 months old | 9 lbs

My cat is feline AIDS positive however we keep her on scientific cat pellets and she has 5ml of Heptonic every day which feeds her liver. Without Heptonic she does not eat at all. Today she has a very loose and dark green slimy stool and keeps walking around very, very slowly as if she is in pain. She also has spinal stenosa for which I gave her 2ml of Petcam. Is there anything I can do to settle her tummy. I am so afraid that she is getting really sick again and don't want to lose her.

Poor Dixie! I would recommend to have her seen by your vet soon if you haven't already done so. Since she has had issues in the past, it is best to have it addressed again sooner rather than later to have the best outcome. You could also talk to your vet about whether or not a probiotic may help her and her tummy. I hope this helps!
