My puppy is vomiting, not eating, breathing weird. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered

I have a 3 month old puppy almost 4 months, he's been breathing weird and been puking yellow ish. He has no diarrhea, peeping and pooping as normal, but will not eat or drink water. He just wants to lay down. I'm very worried and there will be no vet until Monday... What can I do?

I would see if there is an ER vet close to you, as it's very concerning that Milo is vomiting as well as not eating or drinking anything, and breathing funny. This is not something that can wait until Monday, he could quickly get sicker and/or become severely dehydrated from vomiting and not having any water. If there isn't an ER vet in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website site. Please start calling around to find a vet to see Milo now. Best of luck.

Chico needs to see a veterinarian asap. If you don't know of an emergency clinic nearby call your local veterinary office as they may have someone on call. At 6 months old he can become dehydrated very quickly. He may have a virus such as parvovirus, an intestinal foreign body or eaten something toxic. All of these are life threatening emergencies. While you try to find a vet, you can syringe very small amounts of unflavored pedialyte and see if he can keep that down but it sounds like he needs more supportive care than only that at this point.
