Why does my puppy have an extra or larger nipple on its stomach?

Question

My puppy has 9 nipples. 8 of them are arranged in two rows while the 9th one lies in between the 2 rows in the abdominal area and its slightly larger than the rest (not painful and has no discharge) Is it normal? Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 6 days old | 45 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, having an extra, out of place nipple can be normal and isn't a health concern. If the nipple itself is a little larger I wouldn't worry but if the surround tissue is swollen I would have your Vet check it out the next time she is in to ave her vaccines. I hope this helps!
