Is it safe for my large dog to eat Toffee Pops or other sweet treats?

My friend gives his big dog mastiff x a toffee pop A day. Is this a safe treat to give. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There is a chocolate coating but that volume of chocolate is not enough to be toxic to a mastiff. Even though a Toffee Pop isn't toxic for a dog it is sugary. Dogs shouldn't get sweet treats as they can get cavities just like people and they do not brush their teeth. It would be best to provide Big Foot more nutritious treats appropriate for dogs. Have a great day!
