My dog is suddenly whining and crying non-stop. Is she in pain?

I need help please, is it normal to suddenly start constantly whining and crying? It's been pretty much non stop for 24 hrs, I have tried everything I could think of to help her. I've had her almost 3 yrs Shes not a whiner, she's my spoiled diva lol. She's Rehomed to me so I'm worried about exact age, I got next to no info.im devastating thinking she's hurt? I live in a rural area with no vets in my town.

No, it's not normal for Peppa to be whining and crying constantly for 24 hours non-stop, and I would be concerned that she is in a lot of pain. She really does need to see a vet for this as soon as possible, as there isn't anything you can do for her at home. I see you live in Vandalia, MO. There are some emergency veterinary clinics but they are mourned 50-68 miles away from Vandalia. In this case, I think it's worth the drive there. I will put the link below for these clinics so you can call them and let them know you are bringing Peppa in for emergency care. I'm sorry your doggie isn't doing well! Crying a lot can be a sign of pain, and pain can cause a change in behavior. I would take her into a vet today to get checked out. The vet can diagnose what is causing her crying, and can treat her for it. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

I am so sorry to hear about Peppa. Her symptoms are very concerning. If she is unable to walk/use her legs we would worry about things like a herniated disk in her back, a fibrocartilaginous embolism, a stroke, and a traumatic injury. Some of these conditions may improve with conservative treatment by a vet such as steroids, pain medication, and muscle relaxers. I would be concerned she is shivering due to discomfort. I would recommend bringing her into hte vet as soon as possible. Unfortunately we cannot advise you on treatment for her because without examining her we cannot know for certain what is wrong with her. My dog is whining and breathing really fast but I don't know what's wrong with him. He closing his eyes like if something is hurting him
It sounds like Peanut is in pain. That would cause him to whine and breathe fast. Without seeing him in person, I can't say for sure if he's in pain, and what could be causing it. If he's really distressed, I'd have him seen by a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Not eating properly eats at random time and wean and cry at night
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Snoopy. It does not sound like she is feeling well and will need to see a veterinarian if her symptoms persist. I worry that she is experiencing pain with her crying. Small breed dogs can be prone to neck or back pain. The muscles lining the spine can spasm in response to inflammation within the spine. In this case, she would need medications to control her pain. Be sure to keep her quiet in the meantime and do not give any over-the-counter pain medications. Encourage her to eat and drink if you can. I hope this information helps!

My dog is seeking lots of attention shaking panting excessively and whining in pain but not consistently with any particular activity.
It sounds like she should be examined by a vet to determine the source of her pain. She could have neck or back pain, arthritis, abdominal pain, etc. and your vet should be able to localize the pain and decide the best way to treat. She may need an anti-inflammatory and your vet can prescribe. Do not use any human OTC pain relievers as they can be toxic to dogs.

My dog has been sick about 5 times in 3 days, today she hasn't eaten at all and she keeps panting lots and crying. What could be wrong?
Your dog may be suffering from a very painful pancreatitis or gastritis. As she is apparently distressed and not eating anymore, and in pain (panting is a sign of this) this is an emergency now and she needs to be seen by a veterinarian or at a pet ER. She could also be suffering from a gastric torsion. Pleas call your vet office. There will be emergenccy information on the answering machine.

Hello Something is wrong with my 7 week old chihuahua. She wails and cries til she is totally worn out. I am worried she is in pain, but I don't know. I also think she may be blind. Please help! I do not even have $1 to pay you.... I am so sorry...
Poor Jersey. There are so many things that could be going on. If she is eating and drinking and playing then she is likely healthy but she could be painful somewhere or having had separation anxiety. If she is crying mostly when you are away but does okay when you are holding her or near by, this is likely anxiety. You can try playing some music or the tv while you are gone to give her comfort. If she is crying all the time, refusing to eat/drink then I would be concerned something more serious is going on. Unfortunately there isn't a good over the counter pain medicine. That you can give her as most human pain meds are toxic to dogs. You can try to entice her to eat using plain chicken and rice or canned food. If she is still refusing to eat, put some honey or Karl syrup on her gums to prevent low blood sugar then take her to your vet for an exam. With her being so small I worry she may get dehydrated and malnourished. I hope this helps and she starts to feel better.

my dachshund has been consistently throwing up. So I put him on a chicken and rice diet and have given him some pedialyte and seemed to keep it down for the day. Then he threw up again this morning and refusing to eat anything. He's pooping and urina
I would recommend taking him to the veterinarian now. My concern is that Pepper has been vomiting for what sounds like awhile and is now lethargic and yelping. This may be pancreatitis, this can be a foreign body or it may just be a simple gastrointestinal upset. If it is something more serious it should be treated sooner than later. I hope Pepper feels better soon.

My dog seems to be in pain. She cries when she adjusts her position or when handled gently, and is more restless than usual. How do we identify what is wrong, and is there a way we can make her feel better? Our vet is closed today due to a blizzard,
If there hasn’t been an injury and she’s urinating and defecating normally she may have neck or back pain. This can be from a bulging intervertebral disc. You can do some gentle massage to see if you can locate the area of pain. Massage will relax her muscles and relive the pain from muscle spasms. You can also use some heat over her back and neck. It’s ok to give aspirin for pain as long as she’s eating and drinking. It can cause stomach upset so I never give it unless they are eating. There is a section in this website that has information on common over the counter medications and the dosage. Please take her in tomorrow if she’s not better. The behavior you are describing makes me think Daisy is probably painful. Oftentimes when dogs are uncomfortable they seek comfort from their owner, will cry out in pain, will tremble or shiver, or be lethargic. In a dachshund I would be concerned about back/spinal pain since they are predisposed to intervertebral disc disease. I would recommend taking Daisy into your vet so she can be checked out and they can figure out exactly what is going on and get her back to herself. Good luck.
