Is it safe for my cat if I stepped in Rid-X and brought shoes inside?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7 years and 9 months old | 7 lbs

What if I've already worn my shoes inside or have a scrum brush? I stepped into a busted open box of rid-x granules at the store an I accidentally stepped in it because I wasn't paying attention... I washed my shoes off with the hose when I got home, and carried them inside. They are now sitting on my stairs (My cat can't get on the stairs) to dry. After my cousin moved them there... I wanted them by the door but she tossed them onto my stairs as she said they where in her way...

Given that you have already washed them, it should be fine. Leaving them on the stairs to dry is fine as well since Mirz doesn't have access to the stairs. In addition, since you carried the shoes inside after you washed them, there isn't a worry about anything getting spread in the house. Just put them back on outside the next time you wear them. I hope this helps!
