Is my parrot's butt-scratching normal, or should I call a vet?

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | 1 year and 3 months old | 0.5 lbs

I have a red-head parrot maybe a year old or so just rescued from a bad person it is happy now very happy I will say -but S few times now an then he ( i think is male ) he seats on its tale and it looks like he is scratching his butt it last for a few minutes and then stop till next day is these normal or should I look for a avian vet??

This actually sounds like a normal behavior for a male parrot. This is often an uncomfortable talk to have with clients, because this behavior is usually associated with masturbation. Yes, parrots masturbate and they may do it more or less depending on the time of year or situation.
