My new bird doesn't trust me. How do I move him to a new cage safely?

hi i'm just wondering how to move sky into his new cage that i got him yesterday. and he doesn't really trusts me, and he's not fully trained. what should i do to move him into the new cage? also i have 2 parakeets that i'm trying to move but right now i'm focusing on sky since violet keeps fighting sky a lot. so i really need to try to move sky into his new cage fast.

The easiest way is probably to put the new cage with the door open directly onto the open door of the cage your new bird lives in. eventually he will hop over into the new cage. You can help by taking a long piece of card board and move that through the side of the cage separating the two birds and then gently coaxing the new bird into the new cage. you can also wait until they sleep at night and then pluck the new bird from its perch by hand ( very dim light, so he does not wake up).
