Pet's info: Small Animal | Unknown - Small Animal | Female
My guinea pig is dehydrated (faulty water bottle not allowing water to get out and crazy hectic weekend not allowing me to realize water level hadn’t gone down or noticing poor baby’s symptoms). She’s lethargic, not eating, & sunken eyes. She’s nibbled a little on spinach but not truly eating. She’s drinking on her own though. Do I need to syringe feed her pedialyte or is drinking water enough to re-hydrate her?

Too much water can also pose a problem, so I would be inclined to allow her to hydrate orally. If there is a veterinarian who sees guinea pigs in your area they may want to give some subcutaneous fluids. This is helpful because it replaces electrolytes in addition to fluid. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
