My old dog has itchy nose, sneezing, clear discharge. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 85 lbs

Have healer mix. About 85lbs and about 12 yrs old. This last week or so noticed what seems to be itchy nose, clear discharge, some sneezing. Very worried. Is there anything try before vet (safe home remedy? Eating drinking going to bathroom normal. I have read about could be....

Handsome boy! He may have allergies from spring pollen or a mild cold. You can give Benadryl to reduce the nasal discharge and itching. There is a section on this website with information and dosages of common over the counter medications that are safe for dogs. if he stops eating, the discharge gets green or he's very lethargic then I would recommend a veterinary exam.
