My puppy's skin is bad after bug spray. Is it mange? What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 11 days old

I am so upset and broken with what happened. My uncle has sprayed this puppy with multi insect spray in an attempt to kill the fleas. I never knew what happened until I came home 2 weeks after. I don't have financial budget now and the vet is 2 hours away. Are there anything I can do to cure this? Should I bathe him with something? Should I put on ointment? Please help me. Thank you!

I doubt the flea spray that your uncle used on your puppy caused this. The skin lesions do look like a mite infection (mange), either sarcoptes mites (if it is itchy and smells funny) or demodex mites. This needs verification by a veterinarian and treatment. Treatment consists of either injections with ivermectin, or a spot on with Bravecto, depending on what is available in your country. Please take Hyper to a vet as soon as possible.
