Por Jojo! The eye definitely look irritated with a lot of discharge. You can try benadryl twice a day (see link below) and flush it with eye irrigating solution but I am afraid that she will need some prescription eye drops from a vet. If she isn't improved or worsens within 12-24 hours, I would have your vet look at her. Your vet will be able to make sure there isn't a corneal ulcer and get her on the proper eye drops to help her heal quickly. I hope this helps! https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/benadryl/#!

It sounds like she has allergies and needs medications to control her itching. Have your vet take a look at her to determine the best medication for her. She may need an antihistamine, corticosteroid, or a new medication called Apoquel to help relieve the itch. She may also need eye medications to treat the discharge that she is having.

Discolored discharge from the eyes can indicate issues such as an infection in the eye or respiratory tract, injury to the eye, irritation from allergies, problems with the eyelids, or the environment, etc. Since it keeps returning even with keeping the eye clear at home, it would be best to have it checked by your vet in person. They can look for signs of injury or infection and prescribe medication as needed to help it resolve.

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. I would recommend elevating her food / water bowls to see if this makes a difference. There are food bowl stands that you can use as well. If this is a consistent problem, I would recommend having your veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. The white eye discharge may be from allergies, eye infection, upper respiratory infection or irritation. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
