Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | 10 months and 6 days old | 55 lbs

My mother’s dog has had a cast on since I’d say mid January we have removed the cast and she puts pressure on it here and there but she shakes it a lot. I don’t know if it’s alright she has no pain. The area is quite red and she had a cut I guess from where her nail grew into the side of her foot and I put ointment on it and re wrapped it on that area I just need to know if ny husband and I need to take her to the Emergency Vet or if this is normal

Poor Cici! No, it's not normal that she shakes a lot when she puts pressure on her leg, and that tells me she is in pain. It's also concerning that the area is quite red. Given she has had a problem with the leg since January and she's still having problems with it, I do think taking her into an ER vet now is the best option. Best of luck!
