When can my puppy get his rabies shot after his 3rd vaccines?

My puppy is done with his 3rd round of vaccines how long should o wait for the next one (rabies vaccine) thank you!

Great question! I'm assuming Marcelino was given his third round of DHPPi (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza), and he will not need another booster of that vaccine until one year after the last one was given. As for this rabies vaccine, I would wait two weeks before getting that vaccine done. Good on you for getting his vaccines! I hope this helps.

Great question! At 40 days of age, Daisy is just over 5.5 weeks old, so she is not old enough for her first vaccines. Puppies should be at least 6-8 weeks of age, and I would wait at least another 4 days before giving her the first vaccine. She will need a DHPPi, which protects again distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza. She will need three series of the DHPPi vaccines each given four weeks apart. The schedule would be: 1st shot at 6 weeks of age, 2nd shot at 10 weeks of age, and final shot at 14 weeks of age. In terms of rabies, that should not be given until she is 12 weeks old, and she will need two of the rabies vaccine given four weeks apart. She should therefore get the first rabies vaccine at 12 weeks of age and the second at 16 weeks of age. She will need a booster of both DHPPi and rabies at a year old. The vet can discuss the schedule of boosters after that with you. I hope this helps!

Hello. Depending on your state regulations, Rabies vaccines cannot be given until usually 14-16 weeks of age. However, your young puppy should get a series of distemper/ hepatitis/parvovirus vaccines in order to acquire the proper immunity. You should begin now and repeat that vaccination every 3 weeks for a series of 3 vaccines and then have the rabies done at the appropriate age.

Hello, I was given this paper with vaccine information when I picked up my first puppy. What exactly has he been vaccinated for and what vaccines do you recommend he get?
It looks like Shep has gotten two doses of a DHPPi combination shot, and a Neopar vaccine at five weeks, which would have had no effect on him (he was too young for it). He needs another DHPPi combination shot as well as rabies. The next DHPPi combination shot should be given four weeks after the last one, so it should be done 5/13/19. You can get his rabies vaccine done at 12 weeks of age. I hope this helps!

Hello its regarding stray dogs.. There r 2 pups born in my locality, maybe around 2 months old.. When should i give them anti rabbies shots and deworming?
Great question! And may I say how lovely of you to give them deworming treatments and giving them vaccines. They can have their deworming treatments now, and their first rabies vaccine at 12 weeks. They will need a booster of the rabies at 16 weeks of age. I would recommend vaccinating them now with a DHPPi (distemper, parvo, parainfluenza, hepatitis) combination shot. They will need a second booster of that in four weeks after the first shot, and a third booster four weeks after the second shot.

No, this doesn't sound like a complete vaccination plan. Puppies need to have a DHPP booster every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 weeks or older to be considered fully vaccinated - if you stop vaccinating at 10 weeks, your pup will still be at risk for contracting serious illnesses like parvo and distemper. 10 weeks is also very early to give the rabies vaccine. In the United States, puppies have to be at least 12 weeks by law to receive this vaccine, and it's more common to do it at 4-6 months of age. I don't know the regulations in India, but I would be concerned that the pup's immune system is not mature enough at 10 weeks for the rabies vaccination to be effective. I would suggest getting a second opinion on Kiko's vaccination from another clinic in your area, if possible.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your puppy. Puppies require boosters of the distemper-parvo combination vaccines every 2-4 weeks until they reach a minimum of 16 weeks of age. Rabies can be given between 12-16 weeks of age depending on local laws where you live. Puppies need two vaccines for leptospirosis. You will also want to consider the influenza and bordetella vaccines. I hope this information helps!

I will be adopting a dog from a friend who's unable to take care of him but the only shots he's had are rabies and he's 19 weeks old so will he need 1 shot of the combo or 3 shots every 4 weeks
Since the puppy is getting a late start on the other vaccines, you will not need to do as many. The series of 4 is usually when the vaccines are started at 6-8 weeks and the immune system is just developing . I would recommend a series of 2 DHLPP vaccines with the injections being done 3 weeks apart. Your pup may also benefit from a kennel cough vaccine which can be done with the same schedule. Your puppy should also have been dewormed and it is time to start heartworm prevention, so getting him an appointment with your vet can get you started on all of these things he needs.

What other kind of shots does a dog need other than a rabies shot every year ?
Hello there and thank you for your question! In regards to vaccinations, these can be broken up into Core and Non-core vaccines. Core vaccinations are the most important vaccines that a puppy receives. Core vaccinations begin typically at 6-8 weeks of age and consist of multiple series. The most important of these core vaccinations is the DA2PPV or DAPV (this can have many names based on the vaccine brand). What is in this particular vaccine are multiple things. Distemper virus, Adenovirus-2, Parvo virus and /- Parainfluenza. The vaccinations are typically given 2-3 weeks apart and no longer than 6 weeks apart. If 6 weeks go by before the next vaccine is boostered in the puppy series, the entire series will likely need to be restarted depending on the age of the animal. The next core vaccine is going to be the Rabies vaccination. This can be given usually starting at 12 or 16 weeks of age. The bordetella vaccine is a non-core vaccine but is typically given as a single dose around 12 o

Bailey is adorable! Thanks for including a picture. Puppies require a series of DHPP vaccinations, but that series does not need to be repeated. In general, we booster DHPP 1 year after the puppy series ends (so that would be now since it ended on 6/7/17), then DHPP is generally boostered every 3 years. Rabies vaccination is again boostered 1 year after it is given the first time, then every 3 years after that (depending your local regulations). Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Snoppy is adorable! She should have her DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo and Parainfluenza) vaccine. In the US, puppies get them every 3-4 weeks until they have 2 past 12 weeks of age. The final DHPP is good for one year. When they come back again a year later it is good for 3 years. The first Rabies vaccine in puppies is good for 1 year then it is boosted the following year and is good for 3 years (if it is labeled as a 3 year vaccine). Ideally if she only received ONE DHPP as a puppy, I would give her TWO 3-4 weeks apart and booster it again next year. You will need to contact your local Vet in India to follow the Rabies guidelines for your country.
