My puppy doesn't eat much but is active and healthy. Is this okay?

My puppy doesn’t eat a lot. She is supposed to be eating 2-3 cups a day and she is eating for like 1 1/2 cups. We feed her 3 times a day. She is super excited when it’s meal time and eats and enjoys the food but she just never finishes her food. She is active and not sick she just doesn’t want to eat all of her food. What should we do/is this okay? Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 12 days old | 10 lbs

Good question. This is fine. The amount on the bag is just a guideline. What she is doing is perfect. I like them to be hungry at the meal and just leave a little. Then you know they are getting all they want and are not over or under feeding. As she grows she may not eat the mid day meal so that's when I cut back to twice a day feeding. As long as she's healthy and a normal weight this is nothing to be overly concerned about. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Piper.
