My rabbit has an eyelid lump, but acts normal. Should I worry?

Hello my name is Brooke and I was wondering if you can help me I have a pet rabbit age of 2 and he’s got little lump on his eyelid and I got abit worried his attitude hasent changed still hopping about eating as normal just got abit worried

The best thing is to gently feel the lump and figure out how big it is ( for example, as big as a cherry pit, or measure it if you can. Write this down and then measure it again a week later. If it has grown, you should take your rabbit to a veterinarian as it could be a tumor or a cyst or an abscess. If it does not grow and does not ooze nor the skin starts to turn red, then I would not worry about it, and only show it to your vet the next time you take Albie in for an exam or vaccinations.

    Thanks for reaching out. Not sure where the red lesion is by your description. If it is on the eyelid, they commonly get infected glands on the eyelid margin that antibiotics might correct, but may need to be lanced. A swelling below the eye could be a lesion of the skin, but also a dental abscess. A veterinary visit is recommended to help with diagnosis and treatment. Good luck.
