My pregnant cat has diarrhea and a red, swollen rear. What to do?

My pregnant cat has been having diarrhea for a while and her butthole has been red. Today I discovered drops of diarrhea on the floor and her butthole is red and now swollen.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Cookie! Since Cookie is pregnant it is best that she be seen by a Vet. I would recommend a bland diet like Hill's i/d and a probiotic. I try to avoid medications in pregnant animals. There are not safe human medications to give her. Cats are very sensitive and can not tolerate medications regardless of being pregnant. Bring a stool sample to the Vet with you. Causes of diarrhea are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, reaction to a diet change, ate something gross, pancreatitis, intestinal disease. I wish Cookie the very best!
