Does FIP cause a cat's fever to fluctuate or stay consistently high?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 7 months and 24 days old | 5.5 lbs

My cat might have FIP of a baterial infection i don't remember its name , the question is , her temperature changes from 38 to 41 from time to time , does cat with FIP change their temperature by this rate or it stays high?! I'm afraid my cat wouldn't make it.

Fevers can come and go with any ongoing infections including FIP in what is often referred to a 'waxing and waning' condition. This would not be definitive for any specific disease but does indicate that the condition is not being fully resolved and is triggering inflammatory responses
