What should I do about my cat's growing skin lump at her tail base?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 11 years and 4 months old | 10 lbs

My cat has had skin growth at her tail base. I thought it was an engirged tick a while ago, so removed it and kept wound clean/neosporin. It’s back!. Bigger! Thoughts? Thank you, I’m worried.

It would be best if you had this mass examined by a veterinarian, as this could be just a wart but also a malignant growth. Since it is growing, it is suspicious. The vet may want to remove it surgically and send it in rather than do a biopsy as it is still small.
