My dog has a bleeding bump under his mouth with exposed skin. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 4 years and 5 months old | 75 lbs

My dog has this weird thing under his mouth that i just noticed today, i cleaned it with a papertowel (there was some blood/discharge or somthing) and put liquid bandage on it. He doesnt do anything to cut that specific area so i have no idea how it even got there. There is a bump in the middle i dont remember if thats always ther or not but the skin is exposed

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Scrappy Doo. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian. I am worried that his skin in the pictures is infected. If so, he will likely need a topical disinfectant solution as well as oral antibiotics to help him heal. I hope this information helps!
