My kittens are lethargic and wobbly but still eating. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 3 months old | 2.6 lbs

2 of our 4 rescued kittens have become very lethargic in the last couple of days. They are still eating, drinking, and using litter as far as we can tell. They do respond to pets or us coming near the playpen we have them in. Baron is very wobbly on his feet and seems perhaps worse off than his brother. The other 2 girls seem just fine and spunky as normal. Planning to see if our vet can see them tomorrow but wondering how worried I should be.

Poor kitites. Lethargy and weakness can cause pets to stagger. Numerous things oculd be causing this including: anemia (low red blod cell count), or any other underlying illness. Without any other sympotms to speak of, there isn't much else to speculate on. Hopefullyt he vet can gether more information after a thorough physical exam and possibly even testing for infectious disease (FELV/FIV). I hope that your kitties are going to be ok moving forward. Best of luck and take care.
