Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 6 months old | 38 lbs
I’m looking into bringing a new puppy into our home in the next 6 months. How can I tell if my current dog would be ok with this? Or how could I tell if he is ready for a new member of the family?

One way to gauge if Chigger is ready for another dog is to see how he reacts to your friends dogs. If he seems to like other dogs,m then this is a good sign. If he does not, this is a bad sign. I also recommend to make sure he is neutered and up to date on vaccines and parasite prevention. Neutering helps to make the introduction a lot smoother and it may help to avoid obscessive humping. Making sure he is up to date on prveentive care will make sure the puppy stays healthier.
