Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 3 years old | 53 lbs
My dog jumped in the air to catch a ball and when he landed he yelped then limped for a second and was fine and now he doesn't act like it hurts and he's not limping but when I touch it he starts to shake and when he stands still sometimes he will lift it and hold it off the ground

Poor Odin! I recommend resting him for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a leash, and bring him right back in when he's done. If he still appears painful after this time, then I would take him into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. He may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given.

It sounds like poor Adam injured his leg! I recommend resting him for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a lead only, and bring him right back in when he's done. If he still appears painful after this time, then I would take him into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. He may also benefit from some pain medications. I would take the next 48 hours and make sure Adam doesn't jump at all because that seems to be when he experiences pain. After those 48 hours, if he does yelp in pain when jumping, then yes I would have him seen by a vet. Dogs can be very stoic about pain, and he could still be painful even though he isn't limping. It's certainly not normal for him to yelp when jumping up, and that does signify a problem. Due to that, if it continues, it's best to have him evaluated by a vet. I hope this helps!

Poor Alfie! He may have just strained a ligament or muscle. I would monitor Alfie for a few days first before taking him into the vet, and rest him as well. For the next 72 hours, keep him as quiet as possible, no running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a lead only, and bring him right back in when he's done. No long walks either. Do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. If after 72 hours he is still limping, then I would take him into the vet. I would take him into the vet sooner than 72 hours if he limping worsens and/or he becomes non-weight bearing.
